I’ve been a web developer by trade since 2004, and I’m currently working at a Icelab, a design studio in Canberra, Australia. I’m also one of the creators of Decaf Sucks, a coffee and cafĂ© review site.
Both in and outside of work, most of what I write at the moment is in Ruby, using Ruby on Rails or Sinatra if frameworks are required. I also am writing an increasing amount of JavaScript and have just started to pick up Objective-C, via Apple’s iPhone SDK.
Please take a look on the front page for a list of my open source projects, and latest technical articles and talks. Feedback and patches gratefully accepted!
I live in Canberra, Australia, after moving here in 2007 for the girl who is now my wife. We’ve just bought our first property here and are enjoying living in striking distance of the CBD and many sources of espresso.
With my friends and colleagues, I help organise the Canberra Ruby Crew events. At least every other month, I’ll head down to Sydney to mix with the vibrant web crowd at their Ruby on Rails Oceania meets.
I own a fixed gear Surly Steamroller and a single speed Strida, and I don’t ride them nearly enough. I used to play State League volleyball & coach high school teams, but now I am contented with walks and the occasional game of squash. I’ll probably play volleyball again one day, though I am not sure what my knees think of this.
